1 (who?)
Please forgive me if another Megamind group has already posted about this... xD

I was lurking on Wikipedia, and I looked up "Megamind." In the box that shows all of the sections of the article, my eyes automatically landed on "Possible Sequel." Immediately, I click on it (almost out of instinct o-o). Let me quote what Wikipedia has on its page:

"Due to the film's success, a sequel to Megamind is currently in consideration, since a sequel was suggested in the DVD commentary. If true, then it will possibly be released 2014 onwards."

Oh my. Although Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source in the world, we can still at least talk about a sequel, right?

What would a Megamind sequel be like, now that the main story is pretty much over? What do you guys think would make Megamind 2 into a hit, or whatever? <w< Feel free to comment and share your opinions on a possible Megamind 2. ;w;

I hope they do make a sequel. I bet Megamind and Roxanne take a huge leap into their relationship.
But still there should be a sequel.

I don't trust Wikipedia on stuff like this anymore. It's let me down too many times. :( I'll believe it for sure when I see it somewhere official.

That being said, Dreamworks has quite a rep for doing sequels if a film's successful. I mean, four Shreks!? And now they're making a Shrek spin-off with Puss in Boots! A third Madagascar is in the works and Kung Fu Panda 2 is coming out this year with a KFP TV series to follow. So I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they did make a Megamind sequel and/or TV series.

I would like to think a sequel would feature the Doom Syndicate. The only reason I think it wouldn't is that they were already in the video games. I think it would be interesting if the sequel had to do with the people of Metro City doubting their new hero. A new villain (who is also Hal's lawyer) brings to light the fact that it was Megamind who created Tighten and caused the whole mess. Hal would be released on claims that he acted under the influence of Megamind's infusion. This villain would then use Hal to help him turn the city against Megamind and take over from within. Megamind would then have to stop this new villain and regain the city's trust... or something like that... ^^;
I'd rather that they make a tv series of Megamind than a sequel. Like the Peguins of Madagascar series, I've only watched one or two episodes, but they managed to take the awesome parts/characters of Madagascar and consistently come up with semi-related and amusing scenarios.

The talk of sequels to superhero movie parodies got me thinking, wouldn't a Megamind/Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog crossover be awesome? (or at the very least, interesting?)

I kind of agree. If they had to go one or the other, I'd rather have a tv show (as long as they can get Ferrell and Cross to do it) 'cause it'll last longer. The "Button of Doom" was so fun and creative, I'd have high hopes that they could make an awesome show out of it. And I've seen quite a few episodes of "Penguins of Madagascar," and it is hilarious! :laughing:

I coulda sworn I heard they were going to make it into a series for Cartoon Network or Nick. I guess that was only a bit about showing the Button Of Doom. It may be just as well. Seeing Megz go the way of Billy and Mandy would be depressing.

For some kind of sequel, I was thinking about all the loose ends he may have left in the world, like the MegaMegaMind robot, would make for interesting story bits. Finding out how he came upon some of his inventions, as well. (his pals in prison could have willed things to him or told him where they hid cool stuff) I thought he could have made his way up by selling some to foreign bands, in order to fund his real good stuff. I don't know if he stole EVERYthing, and how does one amass 88 life sentences anyway? Supplying arms to a rotten regime could be one way. Heck, exploring that would be fun in and of itself.

If they continue to explore how bad he was and how he comes to see himself in a new light, "The old me was so annoying!", and kind of come at it from a rehab point of view, that could be enriching to the generation teetering between a similar fate. There's a lot of kids out there who don't see any value in being good.

Yeah I wrote about that too. They change it though,
At first they say Dreamworks were planning on naming the movie Megamind: Metro Man Returns. What a horrible title. Some fan most likey wrote it.
Though am excited for the sequel. Hey you think Megamind will come out with Despicable me? Maybe not.

I imagine the sequal will have alot to do with the Doom Sydicate, in the book Art of Megamind, they say that Since the Doom Sydicate wasn't used in the original film,Maybe the Doom Sydicate will make an appearance in the sequal....."

Sounds promising...... ^^ xD
